Stepping out of my room, moments before getting married. Photo by Kim Komenich

Hello! Thanks for stopping by. First, a bit about me: I’m a native Texan, former Chicagoan, Brooklynite and now Los Angeles is home. I love traveling, talking to strangers and letting my camera get me into all sorts of situations (usually awesome, occasionally odd).

While I love the action and adventure of photography, I also love the act of creating a tangible memory. When I look back at the photos from my own wedding day, I remember the fog rolling in from the ocean, the winding trail we all took to get to the ceremony site and, of course, all the laughter and joy that flowed through the day.

My “something old” was a vintage hankie, my “something new” was my jewelry. My “something borrowed” was my friend’s ankle socks, because…my “something blue” turned out to be my New Balance sneakers, which I wore instead of my heels because I had to walk up a trail to a cliff overlooking the Pacific to get married.

My own wedding experience, and the knowledge I’ve gained from photographing countless weddings has taught me to roll with the bumps, pivot when needed and keep in mind that running 15 minutes late is considered “on time” for a wedding day.

You can trust me to stay calm, keep smiling and make beautiful photos of your wedding day.
